One of the events we enjoy in NW OKC and specifically in Bethany, is the Bethany 66 Festival. This year’s event will take place on May 27th, 2017 in Downtown Bethany.
Planning begins early for this event as it’s become a welcoming of better weather and brings out young, old and everyone in between.
Meeting at Aloha Shave Ice and Coffee Saturday morning they cover the parade, entertainment, food, vendors, booth space.
Both space reservations are ahead of 2016 numbers so far.
Each year since 2011, Bethany Improvement Foundation volunteers have hosted the Bethany 66 Festival. The free, family-friendly and patriotic event is the ‘main event’ of our organization. The Festival is held in downtown Bethany on the Saturday during Memorial Day weekend.
Inside an open-air tent, local individuals and groups perform all day. A patriotic Memorial Day Tribute features a message by retired or active-duty military during the noon hour. Children of all ages dress in princess and action figure costumes for the children’s Princess-Action Hero Parade. Adults walk with a child or stand along the parade route to clap and cheer for the children.
Other events have included a car, truck and motorcycle show, booth merchants selling arts, crafts and retail merchandise, food trucks, pony rides for children, plus special sales by participating downtown Bethany merchants and restaurants.
