Bethany Library has moved!

Things are well under way as the Library moves to it’s temporary home in the DeVille Shopping Center.  

 

Here are some key dates to remember.

Dates to Remember:
February 19th – Last day the old library (Mueller & 35th) will be open
March 6th – Temporary location @ DeVille Shopping Center (NW 23rd & Council) opening (this location will provide full services until the new library is complete) 
April 11th – Final construction documents will be completed & submitted for review
May 16th – Dewberry Architects will present the final plans to City Council 
May 17th – Advertising bids go out following City Council approval. 
June 14th – Bid openings scheduled 
June 27th – Construction contracts will be awarded @ Special meeting 
July 15th – Anticipated public ground breaking

The new 23,000 square foot library will include walking trails, pond improvements, a drive-through book return, additional/wider parking spaces, a new playground, extensive landscaping, large picture windows, a children’s area and a teen center, and outdoor reading porches. Construction will take about 12-18 months. The grand opening is currently set for Fall 2018. Plans and updates will be made available as they occur.
